Tranny lifespan

Luella, I have been looking for a wranger. (97 TJ most likely ) and I have read about the tranny needing rebuilt, I relieze that in Manuel's they can vary if the driver is crappy but I was wonder about how many miles the transmission last. Thanks on advance for any help!

I have a 98 4.0 with a five speed with 169,000 miles and mine is like brand new. Original clutch

Mines got 360,000 miles.

Buy from an old person. not someone whos in their 20's

My 98 2.5 auto lasted 215,000 until I needed a tranny rebuild. Oh, and i AM an old person.

Mine (ax-5) has 250k ( I've put 160k on it) now and works fine, and I'm not easy on it...

My YJ had 250,000 miles and was still in great shape when I go my TJ
Just change the oil every 30,000 miles.
