I don't worry about breaking the Superior shafts in my 35. I would caution you against FRP for shafts. It's brittle at best

sorry there seemed to be an issue yesterday and we were thrown off topic!
i didn't realize you had extra engines layin around. and it takes three wires to run your jeeps internals, outside of engine and tranny managment! that being said it is very simple, you just need to grab ahold of the wiring diagram for your particular year and model so you get the wire colors right! the rear end probobly won't hold up to the power of that engine, now keep in mind there are lots of factors, if you swap in an auto tranny with the engine than it is a little easier to steer clear of skinny pedal and blow the rear end! there are lots of cheap ways to upgrade your jeep, don't be afraid to ask alot of the longer term members here who can help you out, cause we have all been through this before one time or another.you seem (from what i've read) like you might be interested in doing this youself. which is good, cause if you wheel things brake alot! when i first started i didn't really know to much or had ever done anything major before, but it is a very simple and basic beast. if you got some basic hand tools and a good parts store down the road you are gonna be fine. i;ve mentioned to both sell and to build, whatever you feel like tackling. just post a thread when you start and we all will help!

You can run into length issues with the automatics and a 231/241 behind it. If the 360's have FI on them then it might be worth it. But going back to a carb from an FI motor isn't. Carb's just don't work well climbing, unless you put propane on.
