Trans question - go easy on me

The one major question i have is the trans. All gears ( P R N D 2 1) seem to be out of wack. Park is fine then next its empty then the rest is in order example (P _ R N D 2 ). Any thoughts on this?? is there an adjustment?

I know how to find the gears, trans does NOT slip pop out or anything. To get to Drive i take the auto shift handle, put it in "2". Once i start to move i bring it back to "D". Sometime i can go from PARK to DRIVE and it reads but most of the time it wont. hope i put enough info where someone can understand what im trying to say. Thanks to all who respond, have a great day.

P.S.- the 42lre is not my friend lol. ive read a little about it and dont care much for it but as long as it work ill live with it.

pull the console up and fuss with plastic indicators until it works like you want.

really easy to do....just yank up on the t-handle, and pop the indicator plate up by hand.

@ unlimited LJ04- thank you oh so very much haha, it is fixed now but it was the lil nut closer to the driver seat. i believe it was a 13mm it was a lil loose, i tightened it a few turns and all gears engage where they are marked, i feel oh so much better. Hummmm whats next on the "LIST" ??? haha thanks again
