Needs to be out of a 4cly as the input will need to match or you will need to swap it over.

Try car-parts.com for used one's in your area. Also what happened to the current one?

with the 2.5 the tcase is 21 spline input i think. you could probably also get one out of a cherokee but it might have to be clocked (turned around). your best bet is a 231 out of a wrangler that had a 4cyl. if you can't find one then a 231 from a 4.0 will work but you will need to change the input spline count from 23 to match the 21 spline you need.

it's actually pretty involved. there is more to it than just spline count. even the 21 spline for auto and manual trans is different. but basically once you have the right one you have to disassemble the t case and replace the new shaft. chances are a bolt in ready t case with the right input shaft already there will cost < 200 used.

That requires opening the transfer case and changing the input shaft. Not an especially difficult job, kind of like installing a SYE kit.
