Transfer case? Or no transfer case?

I'm looking at some budget boost lifts for my tj, and I'm not sure if getting a transfer case drop is necessary. I don't plan on going over 2 inches either. Do I need a case drop?

If you have a stock suspension now and you are going with a 2" BB, you will likely not get any driveline vibrations....so you probably won't need to lower the transfercase/skid.

4"+ lifts seem to be more prone to getting vibrations requiring a SYE/CV or MML and Transfercase drop adjustments.

If by chance you do get vibes, you don't have to get a kit. You can drop your transfer case skid one washer at a time, until the vibes are dialed out.

Although rare, there are unfortunate cases of Jeeps with short lifts, that end up impacting their drive line enough to get vibes. I got vibes from a 2" lift myself and ultimately used a motor mount lift to bring my angles back or close to spec.
