transmission fluid

So I'm thinking my transmission fluid is low or something. I don't know how to check it or anything cause I'm a newbie and don't know where it is.

Manual transmissions don't normally run low on gear lube. What makes you think it is low?

Should be a fill plug on the side of trans. It should be marked as such.

My car sounds really really weird when I accelerate. Like something is shaking like crazy. I don't actually know the problem though.

Ok, your car sounds funny but what is your Jeep doing?

Really, all kidding aside, what sounds "really wierd"? We're not gonna be able to offer suggestions unless you can better describe the problem.

Do you see any signs of a fluid leak from the transmission?

Is the fluid clear? Cause I saw leaking underneath but I thought it was just water.

Depends on where it is leaking from -- and no it is not completely clear.

Almost sounds like an exhaust leak, does it make that noise in neutral or only under a load?

the clear fluid you described could have been condensation from the exhaust as well coming out at the leak spot.

It only makes that sound when I'm accelerating in gear. When I rev in neutral it sounds normal. Would this be a hard fix? :/

^^^
i second that, sounds like an exhaust leak. I just had mine fixed. Mine was caused by the hanger breaking loose by the cat, causing the front pipe to rub on the front drive shaft.

Let us know

Found the leak. Its on the muffler. I'm having trouble taking off the stock skid plate though. The bolts are tight as hell!

You shouldn't need to remove the skid plate for the muffler, unless your referring to the catalytic converter, which is right above the skid plate. As for the skid plate, I advise using pb blaster and a pipe for extra leverage.

booo use Kroil

i like to whack my nuts and bolts with a hammer to kind of loosen them up first. spray Kroil or PB Blaster on them and let them sit for a day(if possible). do the same thing the next day about an hour or two before working on it.

Haha. I can't explain the feeling, but there is something magical that happens when you finally get that stuck bolt to move. I imagine it's like watching a cow give birth....or not. Lol
