Transmission in 2004 TJ

What type of manual transmission would be in a 2004 TJ Sahara?

AX-15 or NV???

And is there an easy way to see what axles would be on it (assuming I don't have access to the Jeep)?

2004 would be the NV3550 i believe. the NVG is in the 05 and 06 models. My 2001 had the NV3550 as well. Think the AX was quite a bit early on.

5 speed.

I'm thinking it was the NV3550 as well. Would prefer a 6 speed, but the 5 speed was reliable too. The build sheet just says 5 speed HD manual transmission (Code DDD).

It does have the Dana 44 and 3.73 gears and the 19 gallon tank.

AX-15 was used up until 1999, then switched to the nvg3550 in 2000
