Trektop NX vs Supertop NX

I just bought my 02 wrangler about a month ago and it only came with a hard top. Since summer is right around the corner I need a soft top. I don't know much about either top. I want to be able to put the top on and off quickly. I would like to have a bikini top. Most important for me is I would like to keep the soft top in my jeep when driving. Any help would be great and pictures would be awesome.

Trektop NX vs Supertop NX

Im in the same boat as you right now. I have been doing a ton of asking around, and a lot of my buddies seem to swear by the Trektop. Like you, I like the Supertop because the top is always w/ you. I have been asking, but not really getting the answer I was looking for. What I want to know is if I want to take the top down w/ the trektop, is it really a removal? And I have to store it safely as I run down the road.
I only see an $80 difference where I am looking at them, and I am swaying towards the Supertop. It seems more like a factory top (and they even claim to be the supplier to JEEP), and it has all the the needed hardware for less than $700

I was hoping to see more from member on here by now.
Good luck w/ the search.

Yes you have to remove it to be totally open

Yeah thanks. I've been asking around also and like you said everyone swears by the trektop. I'm not sure if this is true but i heard that the trektop doesn't fit in the Jeep in regards to keeping it with you when you are driving without a top on. I also heard it is more of a hassle to take the top off when using the trektop. I'm torn between the two. The money isn't really a factor here since they are only like $80 difference. I want something that is easy because I am not the best with cars. Leaning toward supertop though.

I don't have either, but seems to me the Trektop NX would be easier to store, as it is frameless. You can also remove the rear and side panels and it is a safari type bikini top. I believe the Supertop would leave the sail panels in place, which I know is loud in my YJ.

I too am looking at the Trektop for my LJ.

It's easier to store the supertop, nx, it is essentially a mopar top and you can remove and roll up all of the windows tightly to store them.

The trektop, which I have and love, is tougher to store because the back corners are rigid, so they don't roll up as tightly. It's is also hard, but not impossible to remove the rear window with the sides attached.

I just got the supertop nx and I like it alot and its quiet! It was kind of a pain to get on tho cuz it was super tight but now that its on its all good and hopefully will stretch a bit. Id say go with the supertop nx if you dont want to completely remove your top from your jeep. That was the deciding factor for me when i was buying tops.

I have the trektop nx and its a very nice top, but if I had it to do over again, I would have went with the supertop, as having the top with you all the time is a nice feature and you can put the top back up quicker on the framed top.

If you like to go completly topless go with the Supertop NX
If you like to go safari (top on w/o rear windows) go Trektop NX.
Both have the sunrider which is awesome and can be done at a stop light.
Like said above, the Trektop NX has ridged corners built into the side panels so rolling them up requires sliding them out which is very easy and doable.
I went with the Trektop NX because the sun here in NM in mid summer will fry you if you go completly topless. Shade is a must!

Good luck!

Thanks that is much cheaper than anywhere i looked. I know this is probably a silly question but what is the difference between black diamond and black denim because in pictures they look the same

I went with the black diamond I heard it is a darker black. The black denim I believe looks more faded in the sun

Black diamond is like jet black compared to a more flat black and someone on here said the black diamond seems to be a thicker material.

I just installed the Supertop NX today! Fabric is tight (as expected) but worth it. It'll stretch out soon enough. My deciding factor was also that I love having my top down when it's nice but I like having my top with me in case of rain (or snow). Not that it can't be done by yourself, but, after doing it that way today I would highly recommend a partner help with the first install. Once the fabric relaxes this top will be so easy to take down and put up!

I like it so far.

Just ordered it from 4Wheelonline.com for my 01 TJ....with shipping $657....about $25 cheaper then jeep4x4center.....can't wait to install it. I was looking to get used but $350 for a used top without sailcloth....and other upgrades.. Like fliptop....for the extra $300... Crazy not to go new......

2012 jeep wrangler sport

I just bought a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport. It came with a hard top. I am looking for advice on buying a soft top. Bestop makes a Supertop NX and a Trektop NX. Which is better? I am reading that the trektop NX has to be taken completely off but the Supertop NX does not. I believe they both have the sun rider top which opens up over the cab. Is this correct. Do both of them come with everything I need to convert from hardtop to a soft top? Thanks.
