I was taking my treetop NX back window off today and the zipper came off track on the left side. Has anyone ran into this problem before? They are plastic zippers and a pain to try and get realigned!!! Still can't seem to get mine back on track. heres what it looks like...

You can contact Bestop directly from their web page for technical questions like yours.

Bestop: The leading supplier of truck and Jeep tops and accessories

If you think it's a defect, please contact the company you purchased it from. They can handle the replacement parts, etc....

Have you tried a lubricant to the zippers? Bestop recommends their own products ( Bestop Zipper Cleaner & Lubricant 11206-00 ) but I believe you can also use beeswax.

Put up some pics when you can so we can help guide you towards a solution!

P.S. I'm not a Bestop salesperson, nor do I have any affiliation with them. I just like their products and own a TrektopNX for my TJ.

sorry, my computer wasn't uploading the pics at first. But this is what it looks like. No matter what I do, I can't pull the zipper up to realign the tracks. Very aggravating!!

I put vaseline on the tracks every now and then to keep the lubricated. Works well and is basically the same thing as beeswax.

I'm guessing you figured out how to put the zipper back together after it separates. Just continue the separation to the end and start the zipper from the beginning again.

I would contact Bestop and ask them for guidance. I havent seen this occur before. I'm thinking the petroleum in the Vasoline is too much of a thin lubricant and might be the cause of the issues. Once you get the zippers apart, clean them up and re-install. See if they come apart again on you.

I'm guessing there is significnat tension with the sides of the back window to cause this separation to occur. Check installation of the top and side windows and verify all is done correctly. If that doesn't locate your tension in the sides, I would loosen the top a little at the sound bar, and reduce the tension a little on the straps that connect to the rear tailgate.

Hope this helps!
