Trouble shooting- no spark, no fuel pressure.

Ok heres the situation, picked up a 2001 Wrangler 4.0 for dirt cheap. Lady who owned it parked it and let it roll into a pond! Front end went in to about 2/3 rd the way up the firewall i'm guessing due to water line and what not. This was last fall in November. The jeep has been sitting since. On a good note the motor was not running when it went in and there was very minimal water intrusion into the intake. Oil was changed and motor turns freely. So now I have no spark and no fuel pressure. Also when the key is turned on the gauges do not respond. I also cannot hear the fuel pump prime. Things that I have done include cleaned and checked all contacts, fuses and relays. Only found one not operable which was the fuel pump relay, so I replaced with a new one. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated..

To start, Do you have power? Fuel? I know........ have to ask. Look in engine bay. did the water get to the brainbox? This happened to mine, well the comp went not the submersion. I hate saying this when I hear others with similar problems. I dont like pointing to such an expensive problem. If you turn on the headlights does the instrument panel light up?

Yeah the headlights work and the instrument panel lights up. I have power and the engine cranks like its gettin paid!! I dumped 5 gallons of gas in it just to be sure since the gauges are not responding. It is quite possible that the ecm went under water but Im not sure how to check its operation. I did open it but saw no evidence of water intrusion so I sealed it back up.

Do you have a scan tool? If you do and it wont pick up ecm, theres your problem. They're a thread somewhere the tells you how to check by turning the key on and off with some pattern, I would think if you could find out how to do that, it would have the same result. Only problem with that last method I don't know if you odo will read a code if the CE light isn't on.
