troubles with jeep

I've had this jeep for a year or two I'm haveing troubles with the gear, the way it does, I start the jeep up wait for a few mintutes and then back it up and put it into gear and it will not move until I put it back into park wait a few mintutes and then it will go.

My back breaking i think is leaking again, i just put a new one in it last year, i see spots on the pavement but i don't see it leaking so I'[m thinking there something else that is rotting away yet again.

then there's the CD player, if it's even the smallests cold outside it will not work. the radio works but the CD player is being a pain in the bum.

Then the fact that who ever had it last tried to mess around with the wireing, now thats messed up, if I'm on a hill and stay there for a while the board will not work, i have to pull it away from the hill, turn it off and then turn it back on a few mintutes later.

More info on your Jeep would be very helpful to us...

If your Jeep has an auto trans, the hesitation you described between shifting is a major indicator that the torque converter is draining back into the transmission pan.

It sounds like you have an older stereo also, since the CD player is giving you fits... You can try cleaning the unit, but you will most likely end up replacing it, since temperature is becoming an issue with playability.

Break fluid leaks can be hard to find, since it creeps along sufaces really well... Check the last things you serviced and then progress backward, up the lines to the engine compartment until you have eliminated all of the fittings and associated tubing. IF you have a fluid leak, you are sure to find it.

Restoring wiring to factory harnesses is one of the hardest things to accomplish... You never know where or why the P.O. tied into a circuit. Have someone familiar with the wiring and multimeter give you a hand chasing down your Gremlins...

Good Luck!!!

Check craigslist for a wrecked tj the same year you have and try to find a new harness from a wreck someone is parting out.

My back wheel is due to one of my shocks bad, this didn't happen until I went to Big o to get my Tires rotation and my oil changed, I'v heard horror stories of what Big O does to people and I'm worryed they did the same to me just to get more money off of me.
I went to my go to jeep guy and he told me he could do two shocks for $10.00 dollars per shock, I called a parts store and they told me one shock costs $25.00.
and Big O wants $45.00 so I'm thinking about going to the junk yard to find a used one and hope for the best.

i thank everyone who helped me out.
