Question true, or false about power chips

I was thinking of buying either the unichip, or the JET power chip for my TJ. A friend of mine told me that he had a buddy of his use the JET power chip, and it fried his computer in his wrangler. Also, would it be even worth it to buy if it wouldn't fry the computer ?

They only do a little bit when you're near redline and at wide-open throttle. You won't notice a thing around town unless you're a kid who thinks street-racing their Jeep is cool... which of course it isn't. Plus many of them will require you use 89 or even 91 octane to keep the engine from pinging. I had one like twenty years ago and took it out and got a refund for it.

for a stock jeep, i'd say is worthless however i'd recomend it if you have a cold air intake and free flowing exhaust as with the chip you can add a bit more fuel in there.

eh i dont think those things help at all, but an exhaust is worth it for the rumble!

it has went up, i can tell because i reset my trip everytime i fill up. i have only had it for one tank (and i ran premium....you know you gotta see what it can do the first time)
i believe i got around 210 miles on that tank, normally i was right around 200. i also might have driven quite a few of those miles pretty hard

where do you see +6?

Keep in mind look at the torque figures, not hp as hp is nothing but a "number" figured out by a formula based off the torque and rpm.
