Question Tube bumpers

Are tube bumpers still "in"? I like the looks of them, but my buddy thinks otherwise. What do ya'll think?

The bumpers I am refering to are the Rugged Ridge dual tube.

I would say no. Just my opinion though.

If you like them then go for it. Owning a Jeep is all about personalizing it and making it your own.

Personally I don't like them. You see them too much on poser Jeeps. I do like what Vector6 did to his though. It at least sets it apart from all the others.

I have them and now wish I had gotten something more functional like a stinger. But it is all about what you like.

Missed that in my search...

Saw a jeep with tube bumpers when I was at lunch... Didn't like as much as I thought I would... Didn't look functional like 04tjinsa stated.

Scratched it from my wish list

Jeeps that only touch pavement put have extras to make them look as though they offroad.

I was partial to them too, until I saw some of Rokman's bumpers.

Isn't that the same as plastering a honda civic with stickers to make it go faster...

come to think of it though, i just took the sahara stickers off and i think because of the decrease in weight, i may be getting better gas mileage.

Tube bumpers give you better flex. and the weight to speed ratio decreases so you will get better gas mileage too. lol

.....because tube bumpers are round and the air slips around them instead of getting all caught up on those corners other bumpers have. just saying

Wheelin' friend of mine has them on his CJ (which is anything but a mall cruiser)...not my cup of tea either. But indeed it's all about what YOU like...not what anyone else likes IMO. Example: Here's one of my friends CJ with short tubes. They look fine to me on his rig.

Vs. My TJ (which I also wanted something different)

Go for what you like though...and the heck with others. If you find they aren't function for your uses, then replace it.

Just my $.02
