I've got a beautiful looking 1999 TJ with the 4.0 and a 5 speed. The only real blemishes on it are the typical spots for a Jeep to rust. The tops of the front fenders and the rear corner panel, directly below the lower hinge for the tailgate. I want to replace the front fenders because they are just about too far gone to just fix them. I want to replace the stock fenders with the tube rock fenders, not sure what brand yet though. Im pretty sure I remember seeing from some company before a set of tube fenders with the turn signal and side marker lights recessed into the tubes. I tried looking for those recently and have not been able to find them again. Am I just daydreaming that I saw them before or does anyone know what company sells them? I don't want to lose the side marker if I can avoid it. I believe the fenders I saw had LED lights recessed into the tubes. I realize and don't really want to keep my original turn signal and side marker lenses and bulbs. Any advice or information will be greatly appreciated.
I'm sure those plastic fenders are great and work well. But I'd rather stay with metal ones if I can. And like I said unless I was dreaming, the fenders I saw with the lights in the tubes were metal. I'd be really interested in those if they are still made or ever were made lol. Thanks for the info though.
I admit they were expensive. Wait till a holiday to order them and they have small sales. I paid about 1600 for them and had to work all summer to save up. I love them. They allow for 35s with no lift. The only thing I don't like is how they look from the side with my tiny 33s. They create such a gap I don't like it. but when I get my 35s it will be no problem. Ohh and you order specific, to Jeep tj. I got tj/lj front overlines and lj mod cut for the back. Just order what you need. They have many differences for each model
I can't speak for anything other than the Smittybuilts (XRC?) They are metal and give a crazy amount of clearance in the front. No side marker though... My Jeep is not home right now so all I can show is a stock image.
