Tubular bumper with hitch?

I have a tubular rear bumper and need to buy a hitch. Does the bumper have any effect on what type of hitch I can buy. For some reason I think I remember reading that it does, but have no idea where/if I actually read that, or just have it in my head that it wont work for some reason. Heres a pix of the bumper.

.

I see no pic, but the bumper shouldn't affect the hitch. I got mine at my local Uhaul store, they bolt to the frame, not the bumper. If I did it over again tho, I'd get a bumper with a built in receiver, I lost a lot of clearance in the back due to the hitch, it gets pounded sometimes....

my concern was more that the bumper would get in the way of the hitch, not that it attaches to it. not sure if its bigger then other bumpers or not. i see the pix when i open this thread, so im not sure what the problem is. i thought about the bumper with the hitch receiver, but they twice as much. the jeep is kind of a secondary vehicle which i bought because i always wanted one; it was bought with 130000 miles on it, so i dont want to spend too much $ adding things to it. my luck, as soon as i buy something expensive, it will break down.

If your towing something that's real heavy....I'd look into welding a receiver to the bumper you have. A good welding shop should be able to squeeze one in between the tubes and reinforce it enough for most applications. If your towing something heavy get an bolt on hitch that doesn't exceed the weight rating of the jeep....i.e. don't get a 5000 lbs rated hitch when you can only tow 3500 lbs.

heavy...lol...yeah right, i guess i forgot to mention that its a 4 cyl.....just barely pulls itself let alone a trailer. just gonna use it occasionally to help with yard work and maybe a few trips to lowes when needed

A frame mounted hitch won't be in the way of your bumper, unless your bumper hangs really low, here's mine, as I mentioned it is a detriment offroad, due to the low clearance.

Tubes have nothing to do with it. It all depends on how they mount. Different bumpers and hitches mount differently. For what it's worth mine came with tubes (unknown brand) and a Mopar hitch.
