Tubular doors

Hey guys does anyone know of any good tubular doors. I'm only 17 and my parents won't let me take my doors off. (Don't worry I bought it myself 3 years of hard work) but they won't let me take them off because they don't want me falling out any ideas?

You won't fall out as long as you wear a seatbelt.. But in the case of a wreck is the only time it's truly dangerous. And tube doors won't stop car either. But I'm not sure the stock doors would stop a big truck either.

But are you looking for cheapest possible ones? Or ones with some bells and whistles?

I'm looking for cheapest possible since I have to buy them for myself. My parents aren't happy I bought it either. But they said if I buy it they'll insure it soo.

It never stops. I'm 42 and my Mum is 68, and she freaked out when she saw the jeep doorless...

Checked quadratec real quick and they have some Olympic 4x4 doors for $200. Those are the cheapest there. I doubt you'll find any for much less than that.

Not sure if they have ones that attach to those doors, but there are all sorts of attachments for mirrors. You'll just have to look around to find some that suit your taste/wallet.

These should meet the letter of the law for mirrors, and are the cheapest I've been able to find. Since they bolt to the windshield frame it won't matter what tubeless doors you get.

CIPA 44800/01 - Dual Mirror Set in Black for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited with Soft Doors - Quadratec

Talk to Joe from Quadratec here on the forums and ask about free shipping for the doors and mirrors. That will keep the price as low as possible.

I was in a wreck last summer. I was doing 40 and hit a cadillac who pulled out in fornt of me. I went form 40-0 and did a 180 counter clockwise all within 30 feet. I had my doors and top off and I never fell or came out of the Jeep. As stated already. Just wear your seat belt.

My kids bought me a pair of Warrior Products tube doors for fathers day a couple of years ago, and I didn't have the heart to return them, so I started using them and am glad now that I kept them. I actually prefer them to running doorless because they provide an arm rest while still giving you a doorless feel. I think the ones I have are just over $300 for the pair so not the cheapest, but they are well made.

Bestop Element Doors w/o Bags, Satin Black Finish 51809-01

They are a little more expensive, but they have built in mirror mounts and light tab mounts, so you won't need to pull fuses either. You can always push the modular idea, and upgrade with door skins later for a half door

The door latch assemblies are spring loaded also and prevent the doors from rattling while driving the Jeep.

HighRock 4x4™ Element™ Doors by Bestop. They have door locks too! I like them, right around 3 bills.

It took me a long time to find these for that cheap. But it beats paying $200 for them.

As to safety, I am sure going topless and doorless is not a great idea. I am sure that a tube door won't office much of anything but a sense of security.

With that said, I go doorless and topless all summer and my kids ride a lot in it. Mostly, under 30 mph.

Seat belts should always be worn, but they won't always hold you in either.

Anyone know if five point harness kits?

It was long ago ( back in the 70's ) but I still remember going without my ride all summer for doing something my parents told me not to.

My parents are actually well known around town and so now everyone around town knows my jeep because its so recognizable. People call me Jurassic park (I love it). So they would know from people around town if I have them off. People talk around here they don't like my muddy jeep either but who cares. My parents are more worried about the insurance bill if I was to wreck without doors because they heard the bill gets put through the roof

Maybe me being 20 when I got into my wreck did something but there where no questions asked about doors being off and my monthly bill stayed the same.

Call the insurance company and ask them about it. Removable doors is a design feature of the vehicle, taking them off shouldn't be an insurance risk above and beyond what is being paid now.

As long as you're wearing the seat belt you should be safe enough as long as you don't try any stupid driver tricks...

Doesn't it say somewhere that the doors are not intended to keep people inside the vehicle?

Pretty sure there is a disclaimer about the doors that basically says they aren't designed around protection, but of keeping the elements out. Might be in the owner's manual?
