tuffy console:1 thieves:0

so I walk out to my jeep today to go to work and i notice that the passenger window frame is bent out signifanctly. so I open the dorr and low and behold, thieves have tried to take my radio. fortunately, I had a tuffy stereo console, however, I didn't have the cover on the radio. So they managed to rip off my faceplate and get the radio stuck down in the console. they also ripped off the armrest that is attatched to the console. maybe they did the latter cause they couldn't get the radio. they didn't take any of my change that was sitting in the tray; they didn't take my speakers. all they accomplished was ruining my radio even though they couldn't get it out. looks like i'ma going to be tuneless for a little while. but i have much faith in tuffy products now.

I'ma get some pics and post them later.

Well, at least you know that the money spent on the Tuffy was worth it, now if you could train the owner to close the lid on the radio... Sorry to hear about (and see) your radio though, damn theives, just wanna catch 'em once...

Hey wow! Glad to see the tuffy did it's job - but sorry to hear about your radio.

Oh just curious - what kind of radio was that and how well did it work when playing CDs in the 90* configuraiton?

it was an alpine something-or-other. don't remember the model number. it worked great even sitting vertical like it did. the only problem was that dust and dirt always seemed to find its way into the slot where the cd goes. the little dust screen helped some though.
