Tuffy console owners - post up.

Well I've asked a couple vendors and nobody wants to answer me, so here I am searching the thousands of pages of threads in multiple Jeep forums. I give up.

What color from tuffy most closely matches the OEM gray (as used in 01 TJ's.)

were there that many grays used? I'm looking at buying a console, and possibly a glovebox, but I'd like for them to match the dash.

Feel free to post up pics. as I love pics.

I would have to guess between either the charcoal or dark slate. I purchased a light gray one when they were on clearence through Crutchfield and just rattle canned it. But looking at the pics Id lean towards the dark slate since IMO its better to go darker if you had to choose

Back on topic.

Does anyone know which color from tuffy matches the OEM gray the best?

Or maybe I should just get black. - My Iggee seat covers will be here monday. They are Black with Yellow inserts.

I bought a tuffy double overhead console from a mechanic down the road for $50, said the lock wouldn't work really good, but it did... I just put a new coat of paint on it and it looks brand new... I would stay with black, or buy one, get the number for the color of gray, and paint the console...

I'd love to buy a used one and just paint it to match. But I've posted wanted ads on 3 forums, and craigslist is empty and ebay is empty....so I"m stuck with buying new. (which sucks royally).

Tuffy sells these things in like 7 colors...three of which are gray...I think its one of the darker two...but I really don't want to spend 350.00 on it for it to be the wrong color.

Go with black. There is enough black in the TJ's (center stack, etc) that it won't look bad. My interior is spice but my console is black. My floor is now black too (was before I lined it too).

Kinda what I was thinking at this point...My Jeep is black, my seats are about to be 1/2 black, my floor is black (carpet but as you know I'll be copying you soon).

Thanks.

x2 for black

I have an 01' as well, but with tan interior. Went black center console and black glovebox. It does look good, and adds a nice contrast.

Well, here's how the spice looks with the black liner and a Tuffy.

And with black seat covers:

That liner makes my Jeep look/feel a LOT newer on the inside.
