Tuffy glove box VS rear center console

Well with spring around the corner and having read the thread of a fellow members rig getting broken into, I have started looking into security for the jeep. I was wondering what everyone's experiences are with either of these two products and if choosing b/w the two which to go with. Basically I am a visiting nurse and drive into some sketchy areas to patient's homes. I am looking to lock up my H/U faceplate, GPS, and Sirius radio and thats about it. Thanks for the input in advance.

ammo box bolted to the floor with a big old master lock. they do make glove boxes made of steel with a lock on it, and they make console boxes too.

I just got done painting 2 Knaack 28x12x12 tool boxes. I'm going to bolt them down using the back seat hardware along the wheel wells. Ample lockable storage.... and you can sit on them. Some body in Arizona has them used for about 1/2 price.

Someone broke into my Wrangler and they were unable to break into the TUFFY Security Box . They broke off a knife and a screwdriver. Dummies left them and Police picked them up two hours later

Well I just ordered a Tuffy center console from Crutchfield tonight. Was on clearence for $199 plus I used an online promo code so it came to $179 with free shipping. They only had light gray available but for the price I can deal with it. Figure the peace of mind being able to lock up my $200 gps, $300 sirius radio, stereo faceplate and random belongings is well worth the cost when I go see patients in sketchy areas of the city with the top down. I tried test fitting one of my old amo boxes behind the pass seat but it would just be to much a pain to use everytime I stop at another house. The ease of the center console just made sense to me esp on the fly.

I recently bought the tuffy security console after my jeep was broken into and that thing is solid. the install was easy, could be done with hand tools, and took no more than 2 hours. I wouldn't mind buying the glove box as well since that's where I have the wiring for my ipod and that's where I put it when I go wheelin

I was just reading through the install instructions and I guess I am going to have to cut off some of the cup holder that came stock because I have a 2001 & up with dual stock cup holders. Oh well.

You don't by chance have a link for that center console, do you?
I tried finding it on their site but no luck.
Thanks!

a couple years back I had a guy break into my Grand Wagoneer and try to steal the radio. Dummy left his screwdriver WITH HIS NAME ENGRAVED ON IT! The cops came out and wounldnt even take the evidence. Needless to say, I am now the not so proud owner of a well worn radio boosting screwdriver that goes by the name of Michael.

I have had many of rig broken into, when I got my YJ I pulled the back seat and bolted a Knaack Jobsite Box in place and then ran steel chain around my cage bars with a heavy duty masterlock and two masterlocks for the box. Works great; can fit tools, recovery straps, and a couple back packs and feel safe.

I don't, but I am planning on taking some pics of all aspects of my Jeep in the next two days and will post to my profile. It works pretty well, I just used self tapping screws with L brackets for box to the frame and chain the side handle on one side to the cage bar in the back with a lock to prevent someone from stealing the whole damn box. The boxes can be spendy, but I got mine for free from a buddy in construction and rattle canned the thing and it looks nice now. I'll post pics soon.
