U-Joint Replacement

So I have been having some troubles when I'm offroading. When I engage 4 wheel drive I hear this loud clicking/griding noise coming from my driver side axle. Took a look and the U-Joint is extermely loose. Deciced to swap it. Took of the wheel, caliper, and rotor. But when I got to the hub and dust plate, I couldnt get the axle shaft to pull out. I looked it up on the internet and did exactly what it said. Even smacked it a few times. but nothing. any ideas what it could be?

There is no c-clip holding it in so once the unit bearing hub has been removed, the front axle shaft is free to be pulled out. It is probably just very tight, perhaps the splines have been distorted a bit if you're a hard wheeler.

When you have a choice, buy American.
