Unknown Dash Buttons??

I have recently purchased a new to me wrangler and have not been able to figure out what these buttons are on my dashboard by my 12 volt outlet. None of my local friends with Jeeps seem to know what they are either! Pressing them doesn't do anything as far as I can tell when I'm in the drivers seat... The button on the left has a small star shape on it with a dot in the middle and six spokes coming out of it... Right button is blank

It doesn't appear to be original equipment. Maybe it used to be on board air? It sounds like the button with a star on it is representative of air conditioning, and they used it for OBA. Look behind the switch and see if there are any wires coming from it. If so, follow them to see where they go.

In the picture there are also two holes where it appears somethingn was mounted into the dash underneath my outlets... Think that has anything to do with it? I will try seeing if any wires come out of it when I get a chance. I tried feeling up underneath it yesterday and found a blue wire, but it did not have anything to do with those buttons as far as I know. It was about 2 feet long and connected into the fuse #16 spot which is "Rear Wipe" and the other end was a small quick disconnect type of thing...

They are not stock switches. You will need to trace out the wires and see what they connect to. Could be anything.

A CB radio, maybe, although it would be a really tight fit.

As far as the holes on that panel, that's where I mounted my switches for my auxiliary lights.

The switch, which includes both buttons, is for a DEI or Clifford aftermarket alarm system. It's used for programing and disabling features on that unit.

Took dash apart... The buttons do not have any wires connected to them and the piece popped out pretty easy. The only thing that looks like it could be related is this mischievous blue wire. Click image for larger version

Like indicated the putton is a valet switch for a Clifford or DEI alarm.
