Upgrade Time!!!!!

OK, so I got my bonus check from work and I am trying to figure out how to spend it. I already have plans for a SYE and DS so no need to mention this, but if you were given a $2500 budget, what would you buy. Here are the current specs on my jeep.

3" Full Traction Suspension lift
1" body lift
33X12.50 MT/R's
Omix-Ada / Rugged Ridge Front and Rear RC bumpers, 7" fender flares, and HD Tie Rod and Drag link.

Now what else to add?? I wheel my jeep about once a month and it is a daily driver.

I was thinking about a Super 35 kit and new gears, but I want to hear what you guys and gals think.

Thanks
Tazmann910

I would give the $2,500 to Cherokee980 and let him buy more mods for his Jeep.

Buy what you listed and put the rest away for a rainy day?

I would get a winch and if you still have enough buy the super 35 kit and new gears. And a locker up front in the D30.

One of my favorate mod's is the Rhino lined interior, they matched the slate color. Just pull the plugs & hose it out.

my first mod by far would be a super 35 with a regear and a locker up front.

then (assuming you've already done the sye/cv/adjustable uppers) some more armor or a flat skid.

If I was you Id buy the RE long arm upgrade: $1500
then with the remaining grand Id buy a pair of D60's and use the money to lock them and get them under the rig. Or just upgrade the rear to a 44 at least and lock that and also get a winch. The smitty built is only $300 shipped at winch depot. And D60's can be had off ebay for SUPER cheap!

Thanks guys, I have been looking at doing a D44, I just need to find one that I can afford. The cheapest D44 i have found with gears and locker is around 2400 bucks...if anyone know of any cheaper...i am open to suggestions.

Also agree with the comment about Big Kids with Big Toys.

Yea Taz, you can get a JK D44 from mopar for $1400 including the electric locker and 4.10 gears! But all the brackets have to be cut off and moved around, and you also have to change the yokes out. Also, the bolt pattern is a 5 on 5.5 so you could have to get wheel spacers or new shafts. But spacers are the obvisiouly cheaper decision there. But 44's are pretty expensive. Id suggest looking around for an 8.8 or 9" if your gonna swap an axle under there since you'll have to do new brackets anyway. Unless of course you are gonna dish out the cash for a completley custom built axle from a company like SOLID or Currie or the such.

I am not sure what I am going to do yet..I would like to swap out the axle, but I think the super 35 is the way I am going to go...save about 1000 bucks and be able to get some more trail armor and a winch.

An 8.8 swap is cheaper......

And way stronger than any D35......Every bit as good as a D44 with the C-clip eliminators......

hey tazzman if you are ever up in SC there is a guy who has a couple of 8.8s with 3.73's or 4.10's and they are ready to BOLT IN for under $1000. about $850. he is building me a front bumper also

that would be a great cheap upgrade for the rear. then just regear the front and lock it. then armor time or maybe a long arm if you feel thats necessary.

Taz, I've been debating upgrading as well, and my plans ( suggestions) would be to swap out the d35, regear the 30, and get a winch, not sure if you already have a rear swing out tire carrier bumper or not but that is also a worthwhile investment. Plus, swapping and regearing your axles would be the first steps in settin up for a 6 inch long arm down the road, at least thats what I am thinking
I am also interested to know about these ready to bolt in axles in SC??????
