Upgraded my Headlights

After reviewing the comments on the forum, I pulled the trigger on a set of replacement headlights from www.rallylights.com. I went with the Hella 7" E-Code conversion kit with the 60/55W Hella Premium Xenon Blue H4 bulbs. Got them installed yesterday and dialed them in last night and I cannot believe how much brighter these are over the stock sealed beams. This is by far the best upgrade I have done to my Jeep from the standpoint of safety due to the increased visibility.

I also have these and I can vouch for how bright they are, and they never bother others driving due to there light pattern. If you don't have these your driving blind! They are worth more than words, you need to see them in person to understand the difference.

I'm not sold on the idea, I run amber fog lights, low wide path.

Great Upgrade!

I agree. Upgrading the headlights is a great investment! I upgraded to some Delta Headlights for my '99 TJ and it is the best thing I have done! Amazing light output! Especially with high beams and the fog lights both on!!

Are these a drop in, or is there additional wiring needed?

Actually, we can't get an idea. The headlights are off and it's daylight.

You can drop in housings and bulbs without additional wiring, but to get the best performance (or to use higher-wattage bulbs) you need to add a wiring harness and relays straight from the battery, as well.

Here are the lights in action:

No lights

Dim Lights

Bright Lights

As stated previously, this is probably one of the best modifications I have done to any vehicle.

Drop in - no modifications are required to make this system work unless you decide to go with a bigger wattage bulb then you need a different harness. IMHO a larger bulb is not necessary with this system.

After buying a set of inserts for my TJ, I realised the previous owner had already installed them!

Chucked in some new bulbs and it makes a world of difference! Such an easy mod and quite cheap when you get such a great return.

A couple of thoughts on those:

-Not an e-code, so they'll be much better than stock but not as good as you could do
-There have been complaints about the lenses yellowing fairly quickly, though KC claims they have fixed that problem

I just wouldn't see any reason to get them unless you really want KC branded lights or plastic lenses, or you live somewhere that your Jeep will fail inspection without DOT headlights.

::Update::
It's been a few months since I have had the Ecodes in and they are still amazing, the lenses are glass so there is no need to worry about yellowing of the lens.

I also wanted to add on country roads where lighting of anything o
Just get the ecodes and keep your old stockers, when inspection time comes throw the old one's back in it takes 2mins. The ecodes are my favorite upgrade to the jeep thus far.
