Upgrading Sound Bar Speakers

Hey all, I'm looking to upgrade the speakers in my 2001 Wrangler's sound bar. I have a set of 6.5" speakers and I know the bar has 5.25" speakers. I found a fairly old thread on here claiming that to install 6.5" I won't need any adapter kits or anything. I just wanted to verify this as true.

Here's the old thread: Soundbar Speaker Size

I just had to drill new screw holes for my JBL's. The basket and magnet fit fine in the factory hole.

Just be cautious on how tall the speaker is. Might contact the top of the sound bar. Other than that, 6.5" speakers fit. I got some cheap Pioneers in mine with a Pioneer deck. Million times better than stock. Can at least hear it with the windows out and doors off.

I am upgrading mine as well. I just ordered some 6.5's for the sound bar and 5.25's for the dash.
