upper door skin removal

hey guys, i got i new top on my 98.. the top is black but my upper doors are tan... want to buy new black skins but the tan skins that are on right now are sown on around the hardware, not velcro.. the new upper skins i wanna get are velcro so what should i do, just cut the stitches to get the skin off and get to the hardware?

Yes, you have to cut the factory skins to remove them. Prepare for bad language and sore hands installing the new ones. I've heard they're quite a challenge to install....

got em on! if you get 3 people and a tool or two, the bad language was minimal (but still present) and hands are only slightly eaten up..

in all seriousness, they were very snug but get a friend or two and its not bad..

i just changed my windows today, they werent bad did them myself. smittybilt upper windows. they are great. good quailty, zippers are smooth and metal so they should last. plus there is a cover on the inside to cover the velcro strinps. plus only $125 for both

mine are bestop.. brand new, gotem 60 for the pair on craigslist... very good find
