v8 chevy in tj

just got bad news on my 180,000+miles 4cyl auto that mite be done , but good news i got some xtra$$$ aside and looking to put a small block in my tj,have the rear built for a v8 awhile back ,locker hd shafts,d44 now im looking at maybeputtin g in a new chevy 5.3,and a 700r4 tranny ,
have a 2.5 ome hd lift on it now ,any one have done that swap and any ideas of how much (ballpark)it would cost ,also is that over kill ,gonna be a dd and offroad on wk ends,and has anyone had problems with that set up and is there any regrets about doin the swap,not looking to do wheelies,just got alot of $$$ in it any figure new v8 engine would only help

I was in the Auto Zone last week buying parts for my 2.4 and an old bud working there seeing my Jeep for the first time told me he knows a guy in town who does V8 conversions.
I have a good running 20 mpg Wrangler Iím not going there.
If you were in the KC area I know a guy who knows a guy.

Look up Novak Conversions on the web. They have lots of info on the GM swaps.
98 TJ 5.7 Hemi, 545RFE, G2 D44, HP30, 4.10s & ARBs, RE 4.5 LA, 35 in MTRs on 15x10 alloys, Gen Right G3 Aluminum fenders/rear flares, Warn 9.5 CTi w/ Amsteel Blue, Premier Welder, Savvy rockers, Rampage top, a few other goodies..

4.0 to replace a 2.5

would it be easier to replace a 2.5 with a 4.0 jeep motor or just as much $$$to relace it with a v8 ,read somewhere on the net that it cost as much
