VDP Overhead Storage Console

Just ordered one. For $99.00 I figured why not. Anyone else have/use one? I plan to put my toggles in it and just a little extra storage. Maybe even some extra lights

Looking at this myself. I already have a cb mounted in the passenger footwell. Looking to mount a dual band ham radio in this overhead unit.

I almost ordered this. I really like the design, but I read a lot of reviews that said it had a tendency to sag with just a small amount of gear in it. My other concern was head room and line of sight. I'm still considering it so if you don't mind, give us your take once you get it.

Well do. I ordered it last night and will post review and pics when I get it.
Not going to load it with heavy items. Just sick of my glove box being full of crap-lol. Going to mount my toggles in it and was thinking a LED strip on the bottom for some extra light.

Never thought of the additional lights! I'll look for your review, thanks.

Personally (did this on my YJ), id rather weld a bar in that spot and install a CB on it, which has the added benefit of being a strength point for cage stations, or "A" pillar cage, to the floor...

That looks very clean. If I didnt know any better, I'd think it was factory installed.

Thank you for the compliments, I posted all about it here:

2xs's mods thread

Was pretty easy, just had someone else do the welding, as my Harbor Freight welder is only good at booger welds...

Agreed! They have gotten me with that surprise out of stock nonsense too.

Was on my door step when I got home. First impression is it is small but made of a heavy thick plastic. Will work great for lights, toggles and so on. Really NOT bad for $99.00. Work today but will post pics mounted soon.
Qtec lost me future business. Only got 1 of 6 items delivered. If it is not in stock then PUT ( OUT OF STOCK) NOT TAKE MONEY THEN SEND A EMAIL SAYING OOOPS- OUT OF STOCK

Any follow up on this? How was the install? Any sag or rattling? What do you keep in there?

Here's a pic of mine installed. The instructions said leave a 5" gap so you can access the soft top latches, but I just shoved it all the way forward (when I want to go topless I drive my CJ7). I keep mostly little things in it. Sunglasses, garage door opener, flashlight, cigars etc.

It's in. I like it. Mounted it just so the sun visors touch when using them. For 99.00 IT WORKS. took cap from glove box that I hardly use and threw it in it.

Sweet, thanks. Any thoughts on wiring 12V up to it to add a small map light, device charger, etc?
