vibrations after RE BB lift,

OK I installed my BB about 2 months ago and right away noticed that I had vibrations when ever I accelerated and now it's getting anoying. I was thinking about doing a TC Drop using 2 to 3 washers, but then I though that if I drop the TC I would need to add one of this Teraflex 4947100 - TeraFlex Transfer Case Shifter Linkage Adapter for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec, or do the 2-3 washers wont affect the shifter that much? I have also read that if I add a 1"MML by it self it would fix the acceleration vibes, is this right?

Typically, the 1" MML is installed along with a 1" BL. And no, you shouldn't have to do anything to your TC shifter with only 2-3 washers.

Your BB lift is what caused it. All he is saying is that you can install a 1" MML and body lift to cure that with out using a T Case drop. On the other hand, you can go buy some 1/2" washers cheap and put 3 or 4 on each bolt and fix it that way. That's what I did.

Oh and you do not need anything for the shifter linkage... That is typically only used with body lifts over an inch.

yeah that's what I am going to do this weekend, one more question did you have to buy new bolts or do the old ones work for what I'm trying to do.

The old ones will work fine as long as you don't need more than like 1/2" worth of washers... Need to make sure they thread it about half an inch or it won't be secure enough if it is hit.

I installed a 2" BB and also had vibs in the lower gears. I added 3 washers and fixed must of the vibs but I still have some in 2nd and 3rd if I jump on it. If I just drive normal I don't have any problems. I to am anoyed with it and will try adding another washer or two.

Will the vibs cause any damage if left as is?

Vibrations are never good for any machinery long term. They can eventually cause stress cracks and failure.

Definitely get the vibes addressed . . . things will not last nearly as long otherwise. Just a thought . . . seeing how a 2" BB doesn't change things all that much, do you guys think some cam bolts would allow him enough adjustment to get things dialed in vs. lowering the TC?

Please explain where you would plan to use cam bolts to fix anything?

I started with 2 washers then moved on to three. I got rid of most of the vibs with 3but still have a little in 2nd and 3rd. I am going to try adding a 4th and see if that will stop the problem.

Older Thread, but just curious if adding the 4th washer fixed the problem.
