Vinyl floor instead of carpet or rhino lining

Anyone replaced their carpet with the pre-molded vinyl flooring for their jeep? This used to be (maybe still does) what came with basic models of cars and trucks back in the day.
I've seen several questions and threads about carpet versus no carpet and rhino lining the tub, but what about buying the pre molded kits like carpet? Sounds like it would be the inexpensive and easier way to go than rhino lining. Sure would be easy to keep clean too.
Comments? Drawbacks?
At some point during jeep ownership, you will BUST A NUT!!!

biggest Drawback - moisture getting between it and the floor....Rust....

for 100.00 you can get multiple different DIY kits to "herculine, raptorline, etc" your jeep.

I ordered a vinyl floor kit for my TJ from I got it and immediately was like "this will never work" ... It was ridiculously heavy and hard to work with, did not come even close to fitting correctly. Looked awful as well. So i sent it back, got my 200 something dollars back, and ordered a Raptor spray in liner kit for 100! Hands down the best way to go. Never have to worry about anything getting under it or shifting on you when your hauling something or even passengers moving around. No need to mention the PERFECT fit!

I like the "idea" of those kits.
I used to have a 71 Ford Short-Box that had that type, and loved it.
But....I wouldn't spend 2 Bones on 'em.

Have you ever seen the floor in the front of those Mercedes/Dodge Sprinter Vans? It's a really thick rubber padded stuff. I really like it (for all I know this is common stuff in trucks!).
