Voltage problem. HELP!

Alright, I have a 97 4.0 I started it it last night my volts were fine and were at 14 then all of a sudden dropped to 9. Started it this morning, volts were at 12 then dropped to 9. Went and got my battery load tested and came up fine, then volts went back to normal, started it tonight and they went from 12 to 9 again. Need to figure out what the issue is.

start with the basics. with checking or better yet go ahead and replace the positive and ground battery cables ( they lose their ability to flow current efficiently over years due to corrosion build up in the cable it's self)
Clean all contact points ( battery posts, frame ground points, starter bolt ) down to a shiny metal and make sure you get them tight.
if your battery is over five years old just replace it if under 5 years old have it load tested. ( i'm thinking you might have a bad cell in yours )
test your alt output yourself with a multi meter or take it to a auto store for testing.

Hope that this takes care of it because if it does not you might have a short in a wire that is drawing power and sometime those are a pia to find.
