Want a little louder muffler. 2000tj4.0

I have a 2000 TJ 4.0L It has the california emissions and I wanted to put on a better muffler, something that would give it a lot more rumble. Could someone help with the Pipe size, and the kind of muffler I would need?
I am going to just take it to a muffler shop and have it done But would like to pick out the muffler I want. Thanks guys!

"Thrush Welded"...and the price is tough to beat. Your local autoparts store should carry it.

This is what I put on mine. I welded it in with the stock pipes. Sounds good; little rumble down low, and hardly noticeable on the highway.

I just installed the magnaflow cat back on my LJ. Very nice low rumble and not loud at all. Iainly wanted to free up the exhaust and get rid of the rusty OEM exhaust.

Its a full stainless system. Only knock for me was the polished exhaust itself was too flashy. Bling is not my thing so I sprayed the visible exhaust pipe with some satin black and back in business.

Its a little pricey but it will last a lifetime and went together perfectly.

Most vendors have the listed for $500+ but for the LJ dealer cost is $370 and I found a seller on Ebay selling for that.

ive got the 2.4L in an 03...will just the dynomax add any noticeable performance or do you need a full exhaust system for it to be worth while?

I don't think you will see a noticeble performance gain with any of them other than sound.

But since you will be able to hear and feel the exhaust note, I believe the brain is more in tune with the Jeep (won't have to watch the tach as much).
