Want New Hard Top for 2002 TJ

I want to install a new hard top on my 2002 TJ. It has never had a hard top and I don't know if all the wiring, etc. is there for the wiper and defogger. The TJ is the base model - no bells and whistles - so what do I need to do to get everything to work? Also, where is a good place to buy a hard top? I live in East Tennessee and could drive a reasonable distance to avoid shipping costs.

mine was an original dual top model, and came with the switches next to the ashtray for the wiper and defogger. if you dont have those, im sure you can buy the wiring harness and the switches on ebay, and i doubt its too hard to install, but hey ive never done it...

The switches are not there but there are inserts where they go. I guess I need to look under there and see. Thanks.

Where ever you end up getting it get the factory wiring kit from the dealer or Quadratec. It will be well wort the cost. It has the wiring, switches, fuses, washer tank with provisions for both pumps (one included & use yours). If you end up with a used one any year will fit but get the wiring kit for the year of YOUR jeep (2002) & you can adapt the connection to the top if needed.

I just bought mine three weeks ago for my 2000 TJ, found on Craigslist but had to drive from AR to OK to get, about 250 miles each way... They are out there but takes awhile to find the right one. I also have the places where the switches go but no switch or wiring

yup - check CL 2x a day. Anything under a grand is reasonable. At least up north, anyway.

I have to park my Jeep on a Pier in San Diego for 3 months and not looking forward to the mess when I get back from being deployed. Hopefully I can find one when I get to Cali.

Nothing will be there. If it was a dual top/hard top model, switches and wiring will be there. Softtop models have no wiring.
