Want to break stereo

So bought a new stereo for my 2000 wrangler followed the write ups on here got it all out wired the new wires and try to put it in damn stereo doesn't fit. the bracket the the safety bolt was on is in the way so I don't know what to do It said online the stereo fits my car but apparently not. I got it from best buy its a dual xdma6630 Had a gift card that's y I went there. I mean I could take the bracket out but I fell like the stereo will be way to loose and mi haven't seen anyone else have to do that. Frustration is killing me !

Oh and the antenna cable does not reach at all because where it plug into is on the opposite site of the stock stereo.

I bought my stereo at crutchfield, so it came with the antenna extension that you need. Maybe try a stereo shop or radio shack?

As for that "security bracket", it will need to be removed. I believe there's only one bolt holding it on at the top, but I don't really remember.
(That was also covered in the instructions that crutchfield threw in)

I just bent that bracket out of the way.. At first it was hindering the install but it worked after slight bendification.

And Dual brand head units are junk (personal opinion).. May want to try something else..

I removed the support bracket when I installed my aftermarket stereo. I have no problems with it being loose or bouncing around. It's safe and secure!

There are two bolts holding the support bracket in there, they are under the defrost vent. The vent pops out easily by carefully prying it up with a screwdriver.

As far as the antenna cable, I have a cable extension that came with my stereo (Thanks Crutchfield!), I don't need it. I'll give it to you for the cost of shipping. PM me if you're interested.

Looks like I have the same radio. You'll like it. Cheap and if somebody else wants it (like folks in Detroit), it's not like you sunk a ton of cash into it. hmm. Come to think of it, my Jeep did get broken into a couple of weeks ago...How come they didn't take the stereo?

I think the stolen goods retail market recognizes that aftermarket car stereos aren't the big sellers they once were. So via trickle down economics your local neighborhood car thief has figured out 10 bucks ain't gonna buy enough crack to make it worth his effort.
