Want to get smaller tires, advice needed, thanks

Hello guys, my Wrangler came with 33x12.50 15s, and had very little tread on them, I am getting prices for a downgrade, cause I believe they are too beefy.

I need your advice, I do not do off-roading, i use the Jeep as daily driver. It has 3" BL, and I want to remove them as well, and replace them with 1" bl, and 2" or 1" Suspension lift in future.

I am going to attach several pictures so you can have some idea. I got a price for a 4 set of 32x11.50 15s for $640 installed alligned. I think it is great price, and they won't look too small cause of the existing 33s tread.
For the sake of saving little money, I am now considering 31s. I did not get estimate for 31s yet, waiting for some good input from you guys.

Question is:
By looking at the pictures, and the info I provided above, will 31x11.50 15s look too small for the vehicle with the flares and all?????

Thanks in advance for your help

It's all fashion. And one of the neat thing about getting older (and having adorable kids), is we get to start ignoring fashion trends.

Someone posted this jeep earlier, with 245/75R16's on it. That's a 31 inch tire.
Some one named Island Monkey posted a comment saying they liked it.

I do not know man.
With my lift setup and and flares 31s might look oddly small?

planning on it, but it takes money to make all the changes:
lose the 3" lift, add 1" susp lift, but new tires, etc...

Hey islandmonkey, you can run 31's without any type of lift, that's what I have on my jeep (04 Sahara). I don't have the 6in bushwhacker flares though, but I don't think it would look too bad. Get the 31's, lose the body lift compeltely (sell it on craigslist) and then save up for the 1 or 2 inch lift. Not wheelin it you shouldn't have any trouble with rubbing.

No all they do is raise everything another 1.75"... It's the same concept as longer coils but you still have the same extension and coil rate.

Until you get rid of those gawdawful flares, smaller tires will look funny. Sell them and get some factory flares, ditch the body lift, then get some 31s.

That's what I'd do.

I cant believe you want to get rid of all that good stuff. Im still looking for my jeep and all of what you have(except the BL) is what I want! I love Bushwaker flares they are so bad ass and 33's how could you not love them, you do what you want but the only thing I would do is lose the BL and go for a suspension lift ,but nice jeep!

I'd recommend sticking with 33's or going to 32's based on your plan. I really don't think either will rub on-road even with just a 1" BL and if you do decide to add the 2" suspension lift, you'll have a nice set up for both on and offroad and should not have any clearance issues. Personally, I think those flares will look kinda funny with 31's as those big/wide flares will make the 31s look smaller than usual, and if you do add the 2" suspension along with a 1" BL, it'll look a bit funny with smaller than 32s. Just my $.02.

Thank you very much for compliments, I sincerely appreciate it.

I am not a off-roader, eventhough it looks good, i can't afford $800 and + tires installed and alligned. So I am on a budget.

You could just go with 31's+ Wheel spacers...won't make them look any bigger, but with wide fenders sometimes it looks better if the tires aren't so sunk into the flares. my YJ has 7 inch fenders and stock tires (for now) and It looks like it's trying to fly away..with 31x10.50's and 1.5'' spacers, it wouldn't look half bad. But there's also no lift, which is a major factor in making 31's look small.

Glad your building or unbuilding your jeep for you. Make it yours bud.

One question though.....do you know your wheel width?

Tire size choices also depend on your wheel width. Look as they are 15x10's from the pictures. But could be 15x8's. The 32x11.5 will be fine on the 15x10 or x8's for your street use.

If they are 15x10's and you want 10.50's tires...look for 15x8's.

I just did a quick search and you can get 33x12.50 for $680. Most places will mount the tire for about $10 a piece I think Are you keeping your rims? If so I don't think you saving to much money. Plus the 33's look a lot better.

Another thing to consider, is if your readings on your speedometer are calibrated correctly with the 33s. Most likely, you'll have to replace your speedo gear with the proper tooth count for the 31s.

My opinion....buy the 32's and keep the fender flares for now.
Save up a few dollars. And sometime down the road ditch the body lift and replace it with a 2 in suspension lift, or a 2 in. budget boost spacer lift.

Seems like the most reasonable thing to do, considering you like the flares. The 31's may look to small.
