Question Want your opinion on lift.

I have read through the lift review thread numerous times but I just want to be 100% sure before I click the order button.

Background:

My Wrangler is my daily driver and I average about 100 miles a day. I already have 32x11.5 BFGs on her and just want some decent clearence so that I can actually take it on the occasional trail but nothing hardcore.

I am looking at the OME 2.5" kit for about $500

Plus a JKS 1.25" body lift kit for about $100

What do you guys think of the package? Any other suggestions? I shouldnt need anything else like a SYE, discos, drop pitman arms, steering stabilizer, ect? Can anyone think of any potential problems with this combo? I am just used to lowering cars so going in the other direction is all new to me. I am thinking around 3.5"s should be enough.

You still might need a front adj track bar... and a rear bracket. Also check out the daystar body lifts..not sure on the JKS but I know the daystar one replaces the whole bushing vs just stacking on top of the stock unit.

That being said should work for ya. What lift are you running now with the 32's?

Thanks for the advice. Not really rolling in the $ right now since I just got my own place so I am kinda hoping that those 2 kits will include everything I need.

Thats kinda the issue....no lift at all just my 8 y/o stock suspension. It works great for daily driving no rubbing or other issues, but I can forget about anything but pavement.

well the new lift will help.. just be sure to soak the hell out of the body bolts with PB blaster for a few days before you start to remove them...works wonders.

My 4X4 shop told me anything over 3" and you might need new Control Arms.
And make sure your 4by stick doesn't bind, I had to get an extension kit for mine.
Cool lookin' Jeep, I was looking for a black one myself, I'm jealous.
Good luck

Ome makes a good kit,but mine only netted maybe 2 ".I ended up putting coil spacers in on top. 1 3/4 front,1 1/4 rear. To add to that,I just installed a JKs 1 1/4 body lift, new rims and 33x12.5x15 MTR,s.Hers a pic to give you an idea of how it sits,my OME kit is 8 years old,so im sure it has sagged a bit.

Let me know what will you do. I have identical conditions, daily driver, no hard coe off-roading, its flat here ...
I am about to buy mine on Monday, it has a 3" BL, i am going to take it off and do something similar like you. If you take pictures while you are doing it, it will be awesome....

Good luck

WE bought a 1997 TJ with a 2.5" Rough country package already on it and 33" goodrich rubber. All the person that we got it from had to do was have the front end done as far as slignment. TJ rides smooth and tracks very well. The gears are 3:83 in a Dana 44. Turning 2,100 rpm at 70 mph and straignt as an arrow.
