Jerry,

Nothing wrong with going double GVWR, Jerry. However, 1.5 x GVWR is still what we recommend as a minimum, and have been for many years. It's perfectly adequate for the vast majority of winch users.

Nice... Have you had a chance to use it yet? I hope to order the 10-S by the end of next month.

Re: Warn winch

Not to hijack the thread, but since we are talking warn, does anyone know what the 2 black caps are that came with the M8000. I think the parts kit is generic and not used but want to be sure. Just got mine in this weekend and am going to have it on my jeep tonight. It will look great on the new warn bumper.

I don't recall two black caps on either of my Warn winches, can you post a good sharp photo of them here?

On the topic of winches, what is the best or proper way to use it in conjunction to a jeep? I'm still on the fence for getting one but I would appreciate the info.

Re: Warn winch

Here are the black caps. One has PMC 5 and the other has PMC 6 printed on the inside.

If y'all can't figure it out, hopefully Warn comes back to the thread, or I will shoot them an email.

These are the best pics I could get.

You need to be more specific; that's like asking when the best time to use your headlights is.

Are you talking about self recovery? Recovering someone else? etc...

That, and maybe start a new thread so that you will be helped better.

I sure don't remember them being included with either of my Warn winches.
