Was this a good trade?

Put on new front and rear bumpers and tire carrier on my LJ and put stock bumpers on Craigslist. So I get a call today from a guy wanting to buy my stock stuff because he wife doesn't like the rear bumper he put on and front has a ding or two and he is going to give this jeep to daughter for DD. So I ask him what kind of bumper is on the back he is taking off? A warn rock bumper set up for tire carrier but no carrier. Ok how about I trade you? OK sounds good. He got what he needed, I got a present for SIL LJ. Damn I'm good to him

Yeah, there are a bunch of them as well.
I just don't understand why a guy would change something on his Jeep because his wife "didn't like it".

read the thread. Not really into jeeps anymore (and he has had several) with bad back and neck problems and wanting to put back to stock for new driver (daughter). Why does everything have to turn into a testosterone pissing match?

Yeah, sorry. Thinking out loud. I didn't realize I would receive a personal attack for it, either.

They feel they need to prove their manliness to someone that they think might care since they know its a complete waste with their wife, girlfriend, etc. oh, BTW, love the profile pic! Sam Elliot is great, he could sell ice cubes to eskimos!!!

Patrick, I don't believe I called out anybody in particular. Feeling guilty? It was just a simple question about a trade and it turned into a "my balls are bigger than his balls" dealio like so many threads on here anymore. Maybe I'm getting too old to do message boards anymore. I have been on another jeep board since 2000 and came over here because of more info sometimes being shared by really experienced people like Brandford and some others that Jeep because they like to, not because it is the "cool" thing to do. Sorry for trying to contribute something other than "how do I change my blinker fluid"

You didn't. And I shouldn't have said what I said. I apologize for ruining your thread. Perhaps I didn't read your post thoroughly enough to understand what the situation actually was. I also didn't appreciate the insinuations made by the other two posters.

Patrick it is all good brother. I see you are in Northern NM. I am in Abq so maybe we can get together and show me some trails up your way some time. I have only been here for a couple of years and not too many good trails around here I have found. We go up to the Cortez area and jeep with family and friends up that way when we can.

Lots of good trails in the Jemez, as well as right here near town. I'm in Los Alamos. National Forest is literally 5 minutes from the house here. We're planning some outings up on the mountain (Jemez) as soon as some of the areas open back up. It'd be great to have some more company on the trail...
