Water leak

I have a REALLY bad water leak somewhere in my cooling system. It appears to be leaking out of the bell housing. Can anyone help me figure out the origin of the leak. Please don't tell me it is a busted head....HELP, it is my only vehicle...

I spoke with a Jeep mechanic and he is saying it is likely the freeze plugs.....will have to drop tranny to get to them...looking at about $900. Has anyone done this themselves? any major problems or special tools required?

Yep you have a freeze plug back there.
No big deal replacing one. Knock the old one out, pop the new one in.
Time/money is getting to it. As the drive shafts, t case, trans, flywheel/flexplate have to come out first. Or pull the engine to do it.

Bummer.

So what would everyone/anyone suggest.......pulling the motor or dropping the tran, etc.? Which path is the easiest?
Thank you in advance for any help. I am unemployed and this is my only transportation....I am considering BarsLeak....what do you think?
