Water leak, NOT from the soft top

It rained all day yesterday, this morning there was a small pool of water on the passenger side front in the floor board. It did not come from the soft top. Opened the hood and didn't see anywhere it could have come from. Any ideas?

All I can think of is the space between the hood and the windhsheild (that area where the wipers are) leak came from there. My driveway has a slope to it and I was backed in (not sure that means anything).

Side note, I pulled the carpet back and sopped up all the water, had a thought about removing all the carpet...anyone else done this?

Probably came in thru the heater. Check to see that the drain tube isnt plugged up. Mine did exactly the same thing and thats what it was

It can also leak down into the heater from behind the battery which is what happened to me. Just remove the battery and apply silicone sealer to the heater where it comes through the fire wall. After I did this the leaking stopped.

I had the same problem. It is pretty common on TJs. I took the wiper arms off, removed the fresh air grate and applied silicone to all of the seams under there. I also removed the cover on the passenger side and siliconed around the gaskets since they had dried a bit. Also, behind the valve cover a(gainst the firewall) is a plastic fresh air tube, like a small snorkle. I removed that and cleaned a bunch of debris out and reinstalled it. You can silicone around the top of that breather from the top of the firewall to seal that too. Good luck.
