Weekend transmission project. Oil question

I ordered a deep transmission pan kit, remote filter, transmission cooler and a temperature gauge. I have the 42rle transmission, at lrast I think that is number/letter combination. It is the automatic on the 05 4.0. My question is, can I use royal purple transmission fluid. Ive read a lot of good and bad things about royal purple and from what I have seen it appears to be more of personal preference. I have been running royal purple in my jeep since I bought it and I ran it in my ford ranger the entire time I had it and had no problems at all. I am just trying to make sure before I put it in my transmission and a week later have to buy a new transmission. I was going to do a flush but from everything ive read that may not be a smart thing. Any help would be great.

ATF+4 - this is the only fluid to use. It is a Chrysler specification and is what you need. Several companies make/supply this. If you want to do a "flush" change the fluid, drive it for two weeks and then change it again. If you are a real pain you can do it a third time a month or two later.
