Weird flasher problem...

Its not a huge deal but its driving me crazy! When I have my headlights turned off my left blinker when turned on will flash but so does the odometer and my guages. Then when my headlights are turned on at night and I put my left blinker on it doesnt flash. It simply stays on until I make the turn then it goes off. All the while my right blinker is fine and operates as it should. I have already tryed throwing a new flasher relay in there because I assumed that was the problem but it still did it so I took it back and put the factory flasher back in. Im really stumped here guys because all the wires look fine too. Anyone have this problem before? I need help!!

It could be a faulty switch on the steering column as this has both electrical for the headlights and turning indicator? Unless you have wires crossed up somewhere and you're just not seeing it I don't see how it's possible to be anything else - other than that switch the two circuits are fairly isolated. You might want to check your wiring at the tail lights as well.

That seems logical. Where I am pretty mechanically inclined as far as turning wrenches and fab work Im just about an eletrical retard. For some reason I am just terrible at finding electrical problems. Do you think I should just take it to a diagnostic shop and let them handle it? Only problem is the rates are high. Its like $80/hour. Mind you I go to college. Still, its my baby, I dont mind spending the money if I HAVE to.

Hmm, a shot in the dark but I really appreciate the experience! I'll check it out.
