welding on frame.

Does welding on the frame make it weaker or brittle or anything? I know that with some harder metals if you weld on them it usually breaks by the weld in a day or two. I dont know if the tj frames are some sort of hardened non-weldable metal or not. I know the factory welds on them but I dont know if this is before or after hardening. Thanks.

no, welding on the frame is perfectly normal. you might be thinking of welding on axles or parts that are steel being welded to cast. without the right process, those welds will just crack. obviously frame needs to be grinded and clean where its being welded.
