just bought a 2000 tj and was wondering if there are any problems that they have i should know about i have always been a jeep fan i owned a cherokee for about 5 years and always wanted a wrangler (alot more i can do with them) it is bonestock as of right now and was also wondering what kind of lift and or suspension kit i could put on it i dont wanna go to high just maybe 2"-3" in and also im lookin for new offroad bumpers what would be the best to go with? btw it has 103098 miles on it other than that is drives great and runs real well thanks for the help and advice in advance
The only major things I have herd about the 2000 model is the heads cracking, due to poor materials used in the design, thats the only thing I herd bad about them, I recently just purchased a 2000 wrangler also =) Welcome!
Most people I see starting out do a 2inch budget boost, they cost anywhere from 100-300, or a full 2 inch suspension kit would be around 500-900 some people like OME and BDS I have seen. Good luck again!
Only if yours actually develops a problem. Why fix what isn't broken?
BTW: I think an XJ Cherokee makes a fantastic starter Jeep. They are much easier to live with due to having more passenger room and lots more cargo room. Once you know you want to remain in the hobby, you can switch to a TJ. That's what I did, anyway.
My first Jeep:

Jeep mods: 4" longarm + 1" BL, 35" KM2s, 4.56s with dual ARBs... and lots of scratched armor
Btw, I loved the two brand new Cherokees I have owned! Maybe some of my favorite vehicles. Loved the simple design. The back doors were a bit narrow for car seats though. Towed a 20 ft boat everywhere with them too.
yes it is a 4cyl and actually i am having problems with the coolant the overflow bottle goes from full to low everynow and then but i dont think its a major problem cause there is no coolant on the ground or anything like that
