I say go ask a dealer what they'd give you, then laugh in their face and put it up on craigslist for quadruple that

Take into account what you paid for it, how much you've put into it, and how it currently running/acting

i went to 2 dealers, one offered 10k another offered 12k, cuz up here in ny rubicons are few and far between, i dont mind downgrading to an X or sport as long as i get the 4doors and they give me some nice meaty tires lol. i'd sell it locally for probobly 13 if i could get it, i bought it for 13.5 in febuary.

Have you checked Edmunds.com and Kbb.com? Autotrader in your area for similar? Dealers usually only give auction value for trade ins.... never trade in a vehicle if you can possibly avoid it. Tires aren't that much (I know, they are) but you don't have to finance them for freakin' ever, so don't let the tires sell you on a Jeep. Get the nasty steelies and awful tires and upgrade and pay for them without the 5 years of interest. Guys takeoff Rubi wheels and tires all the time.... not nearly the upcharge that the dealer wants.

Just some things to think about! Good luck what ever you decide. Wish I had the $, hubby needs a Rubi!

You bought it for 13, used it 6 mos and can get 12 in trade, why hassle with selling, just don't overpay on the new vehicle, that's where they get you. Your only concern is the amount you owe after all the dealing is done. If you like that number go for it. They want to sell you don't have to buy.

Join Treadlightly, you get the new wrangler for 1% below invoice. Then go to the dealer and get 12k for your rubi.

X2 if you bought it for 13k and they are offering you 12k i wouldn't even think twice...the 12k will go right to your islander purchase which will cut the cost almost in half. And then you dont have to worry about the hassle of selling a used car...placing adds, having people call you and email you and come over and looking at the jeep and haggling your price and wanting to test drive it.

And btw..If your going all out with factory lift and what not..why not just upgrade to the Rubicon...youll get the better suspension, better TC, front and rear D44, Lockers front and rear and 4.10 gearing. If your gonna spend all that money might as well spend a little more and get alot more...just food for thought.

Here's my input: I would say enjoy the Rubi awhile longer until the kids actually DO arrive. Cause when they do, you wont have much time for anything else..

Around here a Rubicon like that retails for anywhere around $14,000-18,000 depending on miles and condition!
