What are these intended for?

Does anyone know what these plugs ine the right rear of the body were intended for?

Are they on the other side too?

My guess would be some kind of swing-out tire carrier.

That is where the blinker fluid resevoir mounts for the tail lights.

In the old days it might have been the spare tire mount on a CJ

I'd say antenna mount and they just put those in to cover the holes. Either paint to match or get some rear corner armor to cover it up.

Thats holes from a adjustable band ham antenna its a motorized antenna that adjust up and down so can be used in different bands had one on my xj
