Question What Bikini top to get?

I'm going to order a bikini top in the next few days and I was wondering what kind should I get. I've been looking at the Bestop, Rugged Ridge, and Pavement Ends. The Bestop seems to be about twice the price of the other guys. Is it really worth it? I'm looking for the extended length to cover my whole cab area. I will also need to get a header for it and was wondering how easy are these things (header and bikini top) to take off when I want to put my hardtop back on. I'm starting to lean towards the Rugged Ridge brand since the price looks the best. I could afford to get the bikini top, header, rear cargo cover, and cab curtain for under $200. Also, has anyone ever used the Pavement ends cab cover?
My jeep is a 03TJ.Thanks for your help

I've got the besttop strapless bikini, windjammer and tonneau. The only thing I don't like about it is the way it attaches, the back corners don't stay all that tight. But if you go for the safari, I don't think you will have that problem. The header stays on when you take it off and it doesn't interfere with your softop at all. On any of them, you need the props to help them shed water, or if you get caught in the rain, you will have a lake on your top and tonneau!

I have both the Bestop bikini and safari tops. They seem to work great and have taken the abuse of the AZ sun very well. The bolt in header take's a whole 2 minutes to take off with I believe either a 7/16th's or 12mm socket.

Get the Bestop. They are worth the money. I've got the strapless bikini top and the no drill header and the tonneau cover. They all work great, fit well and don't flap.

You get what you pay for. Bestop is just what it says. Best. Read very carefully when buying a cab cover. The cheaper ones say "water resistant" they are not waterproof! The bestop cab cover is made of the same material as their tops and are waterproof!

I have the Bestop Safari great quality and fits great. I like the fact that I can use it with the door surrounds or without. I took one of the bolts from the no-drill header down to the hardware store and got two bolts that have knobs attached so I dont have to use a wrench to get it off.

I also have the bestop safari and i love it. Again, you can use it w/ or w/o door surrounds, it fits great (does hold a tad of water), and the header is sooooo easy to install and remove.

I'm guessing I would have to take the header off before I put my Hardtop back on?

He is alluding to a "bikini top" for the ladies, not one for a Jeep.

Yeah, I gathered that. Just wondering what sort of alluding he's doing. Nipple slippage is not something a well fitting bikini top has. Sounds like a baggy bathing suit to me.

I scored a Bestop halftop on ebay for 81.00 yesterday. Looking at the pics, I'm not 100% certain it is a true Bestop Halftop, but may actually be a duster/jammer/safari combination. Either way, still a great deal. I can sell those parts that I don't need or keep em for spares. Ya never know when you're gonna flop!

Besttop has two different bikini headers: The old style which requires drilling, stays on permanently and can remain in place when running OEM tops. The newer is the "no-drill" which uses bolts and clamps in the same place as the OEM tops. The no-drill header must be removed when running a OEM soft top or hard top.

My mesh top is great. The wind doesn't make it flap like other tops and is perfect for anytime it's not raining.

So a mesh top will let water through. I was thinking of those before but I only use a bikini when it rains.

If you can get to eBay really quick, there is a best top header bar going for less than $30 with shipping....EVERYONE tells me that best top is worth it...I need an entire replace a top, so my wallet sympathizes!

I just got the Rampage combo so you have the cab cover and safari in one it uses the Bestop header. I also ordered a trail cover. Both were on sale.

I bought a Rugged Ridge Acoustic Bikini and have to say I love it. The padding on the top for some reason makes it feels more like quality than just a thin piece of canvas over my head. The only downside is that some of the straps are quite hard to tie down due to interference with the sound bar (or more like pods) on my 2003 Tj. With The straps not tight, the top holds water. Also, the door surrounds must be removed for install.

Every time I think of getting a bikini top I take all of the windows and doorstops off of my soft top and BAM! Bikini top!

i got the safari top for my birth day and the rear straps that hold it on that attach to the rear of the jeep are pretty worthless at normal highway speeds but when its unzipped and just the bikini top it works like a charm all in all i really like it but its just not something to keep on days at the time.

I have a Bestop with the header channel...you wouldnt believe how easy it is to get on and off after a few tries...I love it, wouldnt go with any other brand...
Just remember, once you use a bikini top, you wont use your soft top as much or even at all. So its just like picking out a new soft top. So at that price, the Bestop bikini is quite affordable!!

i picked up the Koolbreez mesh top the other day. Cuts down on sun burnt foreheads, some wind, but still lets you see the sky. Header channel comes off in about 2 min. The top doesn't flap.
