What color is my jeep?

Alright guys I have a 99 wrangler sport, Forest green. Reason I'm asking is I messed up my passenger door and need a new one.

Heres a pic of my jeep

And a few pics of the new door ( havent bought yet)

I think they are the same but I'd like some other peoples opinions, I'll upload a few more pics of the door.

Thanks

Edit: Found it, PG8, Forest Green, now do they match?

The paint color code should be on the sticker on the door jam.

Even if its the same paint code its highly unlikely it will match. Theres probably 6 different variants for that particular paint code

I know our local NAPA does color scans in the event of paint fading even if the color code is correct if your worried about matching.

Most ANY automotive paint store can do computer matching. It's been a common process for several years now. They shouldn't charge for the matching if you are purchasing paint from them. Most do this as a service to sell their products. Also, many modern body shops can do this. If you are going to have the door professionally painted let the shop take care of the matching.

Yea well I went to a paint shop and got some paint to do my doors cuz I have a buddy that paints cars that said he would do it for me. Well the paint place didn't have a gun he used paper samples to match it and I ended up with this

Piss-poor job. I could have done a better job of matching that one by eye. And using "paper" is NOT computer matching, btw.

He just GOT a concrete answer. I painted for a living for many years. If he goes to a MODERN body shop or an automotive paint store WITH A SAMPLE OF THE PAINT he'll get a proper match. Easy to do if you know how.

Yea ik that's what I said to and the guy tried to tell me that my jeep probably needs to be buffed and tried to get an attitude with me about it, and say it was right when they mixed it, I'm going to ride up there Friday prolly

It might have been right when they mixed it if all they had to mix from was a paper card. There's no possible way to get anywhere near correct without having an actual paint sample. But that being said ... if you get a good body man reasonably close with the color, he can tint the paint enough to make it match. We did it that way for years. It takes practice and experience but it used to be the only way to match it. I don't know "your friend who paints cars" but if he claims to be a professional painter he should have done way better than that.

There are so many variables here. Any painter worth his salt should be able to color match better than that, BUT if thats the paint code he was given and its the correct chrysler code it makes me wonder if possibly the jeep has been worked on before or maybe the paint is just completely dead. Know if you took it to sum two bit gypsy that just whipped out some fleet book which is what it sounds like and they painted it its yer own damn fault because for two reasons, you took it to a hack body shop and you took it to a hack body shop. Sorry not tryin to be a D head but this is what i do for a living and when i see post like this or " i took my doors to the paint shop and they dont match" then a flood of replies of how its the painters fault, he shoulda matched it, blah blah blah. You know what, paint never matches out of the can, thats why i get paid to tint and blend but if you only bring me doors and a paint code which it sounds like didnt happen and i can almost guarantee those doors will not match the rest of the vehicle. If you took that to a reputable paint shop they would have explained that they can get it close, maybe even have you swing by to check a spray out. ya get what you pay for man, sorry to rant.

THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (as I have also been saying).

Heck ... even the old supposedly "Factory Pack" colors were way off most of the time.
