Angry what could be the issue

i just walked in from installing my new electric fan conversion kit. i connected the yellow wire to my positive wire leading to the lighter. but, no power when i turned the key on. so i ran the wire directly to the battery and presto, it ran. what could be the problem? any help will be greatly appreciated.

Who makes the kit? Does the lighter wire have enough power to power the fan? Fuse okay?

fan conversion

the kit is from FF Dynamics. the wire in question is from the relay and it has to be connected to a ignition source so the fan doesn't run after the jeep is turned off. i put the lighter back in and it doesn't work either. is this a fuse or what?

Check the fuse, or the wire connection itself. Or a bad ground.

the wire has power to it and the ground is good. the fuse is good as well. i figured the install out. i just ran the wire to my fuse box under the hood. all is good now. i think the lighter is just bad. it is in pretty bad shape so that could be the problem.
