Get rid of the JK rims.

Bowless soft top is also not my thing but that's my problem lol

Nice TJ, love the colour.

Welcome to the Forum and Thank You for Your Service

If it were mine, the very first thing that I would do is trade those half doors for a set of full doors. It just so happens that I have a set of full doors that I would be willing to sacrifice to the cause. jk.

I like the bowless tops and will have one as soon as my current top gives me an excuse to buy it.

For some great ideas, check out http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/what...ay-108651.html

nice buy and Thank you fo your service, sir!

wow, thats a really clean TJ! i love my half doors, i think i woulnt be happy with full doors... but thats me. also, personally i think the frameless top is pretty cool - my buddy has one and its a nice look.

i would say start with tires/wheels and a lift. dont cheap out on the lift - i got an RC 2.5" coil/shock lift and after a few months (and adding a heavy front bumper) the front sagged almost back to stock height. so i had to add coil spacers yesterday to level it - that wasd NO fun. lol )

ummm....mirror relocatoin brackets - yeah, u cant see the passenger side very well with the doors on, but if u have em off 80% of the time like me, who cares. i like the look of the stock mirrors so its worth i to me.

and hows the sound system situation? thats worth looking into - my TJ came with 4 rotted out and blown speakers and the head unit didnt work at all.

good luck!
Patrick

it all depends on what you want to use it for just search this forum while over there and you will have a huge list before u make it back. remember doing it right the first time will save u a lot of hassle later on. it might take a while I'm in the army too and its taken me months just to get a lift and tires on the damn thing i like the color though. and best of luck over there and welcome to the forum

If you have a Dana 35 axle in the rear, I'd say swap that out for a Dana 44, Ford 8.8, etc.

First things first Be safe and thanks for serving. Now decide what you want it to do and who you gonna wheel with. Then you can decide if it is going to need Lockers and 35's, winch,ETC. Or is it going to do lighter trail duty. Then you have to come home and drive it to see what you want to change. You will make much more informed decisions than here on a forum where everyone has an idea of whats best for you. Only you are going to know what your looking for in a Jeep. But if you jump out of planes then my guess is it is gonna involve Mud,Rocks and Speed.

Thanks for your service bud. I retired 2 years ago and am working in Africa now, so feel your pain about wanting to get home and drive, lol.

First $$$ to spend on your Jeep? Fill it up with gas and go have fun. 4 wheel with some buddies, jump in your local 4x4 club and see what you wanna do.

BIG difference between building an "Expedition" style for extended camping and building a monster rock crawler. Or Mud bogger. Or kick ass stereo mall crawler.

It's all good, doesnt matter, but expensive to change your mind after you start buying stuff. Try 'em all and see what you like. I tell everyone to wait 3 months before you buy anything, then you'll know what you want.

Have fun, stay safe.

I like the JK wheels too, but to each their own, right?

As far as first mods go, I was about to say just drive it/ use it/wheel it for a month or two once you're able to do so, then decide what you want to upgrade. Then it occurred to me that one mod I think should be universal is a headlight upgrade- we all agree sealed beam lights suck, and my headlight upgrade (Hella e-codes) was one of the cheaper, yet one of my favorite, mods to date. My $0.02 worth.

Thanks for your service!
