Make sure you get the stuff that has the foil on the top side. Like 7 bucks a roll and you could do the entire floor of the truck then go over it in what ever you like.

If you haven't gotten more out of the insurance company than you deserve, then you haven't screwed them nearly as much as they have been screwing you for the past xx years.

If it really would also work as a sound deadener that would be really great. Now I really want to get my Heep lined!

IT works almost the same as dynomat. I have run the flashing in cars with boxes and this stuff sticks to almost everything so trunks it worked great.

Wow, I'm picking up some foil backed roof flashing as my TJ can benefit from both heat and sound insulation. It sounds WAY more reasonably priced than the stuff sold in the automotive catalogs. Thanks for that great suggestion jdhallissey!

I have had the carpet out of my jeep since the day I bought it. I intend to line the whole floor, actually my to do list keeps growing.
I do not have a heat problem on the floor since the mats I bought from Quadratec work great.
My own personal opinion, carpeting does not belong in a jeep.

Yeah! tell me about a to do list, I think my girlfriend is going to kill me. She thinks I'm obsessed or something. I keep telling her her car is next to mod a Turbo New Beetle. I just want to see what I can unleash in that thing.

my fiance isn't too thrilled about my to-do list either. a friend of mine had a jetta 1.8t and with a chip, manual boost controller and exhaust and it was pretty damn fast. it was still a jetta but he could run with the mustangs/camaros from a roll.

the one thing i want to get done before the summer is over is line-x. i've had my carpet out all summer and haven't had any problems with the heat either. i was driving it 60 miles round trip on the highway for a few months and it got warm, but never hot.

I'm guessing since you guys all put liners down, you don't usually cover your jeep. how do you keep your dash/CD player from getting water damaged?....... i live in Florida and it rains ALOT, just curious if there is something special anyone does

I just kept it simple for about 4 yrs and just left the carpet in. It doesn't rain much here though but when it does it really pores. I'd just leave the top off and it dries out. When vacumed it still looked really good. Got a musty mildew smell though towards the end and when I had the cage put in I just ripped all of it out. Probably save 50 lbs by throwing it away. that carpet is heavy when throwing it into a pile and carrying it to the trash bin.

I don't plan to rhino line it though. I like the clean metal look and it washes out easy with a hose. But in the very cold climates I can totally understand the advantage of insulation.

POR 15 is another good option as a base coat, especially if you have rust already brewwing under the carpet. less prep required, will outlast the jeep, you can put herculiner over it if you want the traction benifits.
what i used in mine. did two coats on entire interior tub with one $45 quart can.

How clean does your tub look after time? Does the liner fade or hold the dirt in the little valleys? I've seen pickup beds that look crappy after the line-x has faded. Maybe they didn't care for it or treat it..... I don't know but am interested in lining my tub but my OCD has me wondering.

I live in Florida and I just put the top up when I'm parked and the door and windows are off. Keeps the dash dry enough. I also detach the faceplate on the stereo. If it ever goes out I'm gonna get one that's made for boats.
I plan to get a cover for when I'm parked at work since I usually roll with the top down are doors off.
My dash has been soaked quite a few times and all is well.
It's Jeep life!

I was just wondering about the thickness of the liner. I guess it's not a problem though - thanks.
